HELLO SCARABEO: as a promotional book for the italian scarabeo scooter, camuffo studios in venice invited 30 artists from around the world to illustrate the scooter and everything it stands for: travel, riding, freedom, speed, passion, etc. on my first spread, two crazy clowns roll down the street past conservative, conformist characters who have no idea how to react to them. The flipping of the page simulates the two scooters driving by. So, by the next spread, the viewer sees the back of the clowns and also the other side of the street where there are fun, carefree, unconventional characters who can appreciate and understand this crazy clown brigade.
